Community

When God saves someone He saves them into the community of believers.  When God grants new birth to the dead sinners He brings them into the broader family of His people.  At conversion the believer is united not only to Christ but also to the body of Christ.  The gospel not only reconciles the sinner to God but to an astonishingly diverse collection of fellow sinners who have been redeemed.  This reality of the Christian’s oneness with God’s people is meant to be lived out in the context of the local church.

We want to cultivate an atmosphere at Redemption where we truly know each other, bear each other’s burdens, speak the gospel into each other’s lives and care for each other’s needs. God has designed and gifted His people to live in relationship with one another and to be instruments in each other’s lives. 

Our prayer is that genuine Christian community would characterize all of our gatherings- from the one on one early morning meeting for prayer, to Community Groups meeting on a weeknight, to the Sunday Gathering with the entire church. 

Community Groups are our effort to be intentional about helping to make Christian community a part of the lives of everyone who is a part of Redemption.  We believe Community Groups have the potential to be a context for effectively engaging in many of aspects of the church’s life together: shepherding the members of the body, applying the gospel to the inner recesses of each other’s hearts and lives, engaging in heartfelt prayer together, sharing our lives with each other, joining together in serving the community and proclaiming the gospel, etc.  For those who are curious about Christianity, Community Groups can be a great place to ask questions and meet people seeking to follow Christ.
